Faversham Car show, May 2011

This was our first outing to the Faversham car show and after an early shower the weather turned fine. 18 cars met at Thurrock Services on the A13 and travelled in convoy down the M2 - not pretty but it got us there quickly! The whole town centre was given over to classic cars and the backdrop of this old market town made it feel like stepping back 40 years. One of the key attractions was the trip around the Shepherd Neame Brewery which claims to be the oldest brewery in England and some of the group opted for the pre-tour lunch. All in all a good day out and a chance to see a new show - thanks to all who organised it.

We displayed our cars in one of the car parks just off the market square.

It was a bit crowded and we ended up being split into 3 groups in the car park, although fairly close together.

Some of the group wait patiently outside the brewery for the start of the tour.

And just to prove we didn't go straight to the sampling room here is one of the mash tuns used in the brewing process.

A wide range of cars was on display - from the vintage...

...to the more common cars from the middle of the last century.

A beautiful Bentley....

...and, although not a TR, another of the classics made by Triumph.
