Essex Day, July 2009

The weather was kind to us this year with just a few spots of rain and a fair amount of sunshine. Around 20 cars turned out for our annual visit to Ingatestone Hall.

Many thanks to those who helped to organise the event and make it such an enjoyable day. In particular to Gordon from Carlow Engineering who took a lot of the photos here and also to Lord Petre who allowed us to use the venue and take photos in the main courtyard.

These first few pictures show various cars arriving for the day.....

We were fortunate in being allowed to take the cars into the courtyard at Ingatestone Hall.

We took a range of cars covering most of the variants from the early TR2 to the TR8.

The club provided an excellent BBQ (with, of course, Masterchefs!)

A small donation of £1 went to local charities.

Now I wonder what Terry is thinking of doing with that tomato??

Steve looks like he has had a painful shock - what have they found in his engine?

...and did you see the one that got away???

..and finally a few more of the cars that turned out.

Here is a rare Peerless which was based on the TR3.

Some discussion as to what the building is in the background. A dovecot? a Well House? Either way it provides a nice backdrop to the picture.

Not sure the umbrella is an original Stanpart, but it provides a quick and effective way of keeping dry when the rain threatens.

...and just to show we are not totally fixated on TRs, here is a rather nice Vellocette.
