Essex Day, July 2007

In contrast to last year Essex Day 2007 was a mixture of sunshine and showers. However, that did not deter the Essex group who turned out in force.

Thanks to Lord Petre for allowing us to use the venue again and also thanks to the Kent and North London groups and to the MG Owners, Jaguar Owners and Stag Owners clubs for their support. And of course a big thanks to Steve Tant and all the others who helped organise the day and make it such a success.

We must have had over 80 cars turn out and in between the showers people could wander round the various stalls, look at the cars or catch up with old friends.

The Essex Group members turned out in force and with various methods to keep the rain off thier cars!

Thanks to the kent group for turning out...

... and also to the North London Group.

They bought the famous works rally car "4 VC" which has been featured in recent TRaction articles.

It was intersting to see some of the modification that were made to enable rallying in the 60's

We also welcomed some non TR enthusiasts including the MG Owners Club ....

..the Jaguary Owners club.....

and the Triumph Stag Owners club...

... as well as an Aston Martin DB5.....

..and a Morris (sorry I didn't get the model)

There were the usual mix of attractions for visitors including the auto jumble, a specialist TR spares stall, a stall selling various auto signs...

..as well as the Hog roast, an Ice cream stall, the tea tent and of course the chance to go round Ingatestone Hall and see some tudor dancing.

Steve, Andy and Graham took charge of the raffle and prize giving...

...and Terry manned the raffle stall.

Here are some of the 'lucky' raffle prize winners!

and also the various prize winners

And so all there was to do was pack it all away again until next year!
