Essex Day, July 2006

The Group's family fun day at Ingatestone Hall, north of Brentwood was a great success. It was glorious sunny day and more than 80 cars turned up covering all marques of TR plus a few 'foreigners'.

Thanks to Kent, Lea Valley and North London groups and to the MG Owners club for their support. And of course a big thanks to Steve Tant and all the others who helped organise the day and make it such a success.

Mike starts the day by raising the flag...

...and the cars started to arrive as early as 8 o'clock!

The numbers gradually grew during the morning as more and more cars arrived.

Thanks to the Kent Group for coming 'north of the river'...

.... and to Lea Valley ....

... and North London groups for venturing into darkest Essex!

Thanks too, to the MG Owners Club for their support.

As well as the cars there was an autojumble stall,...

and chances to show off your steady hand..

... or have a go at the coconut shy.

The Hog Roast was a great success

There were reduced rates for visitors to go round Ingatestone Hall..

..and see some tudor dancing.

Above all it was a day to laze around or catch up with old friends

It was such a hot day that finding a bit of shade was the priority..

... even for some of the cars!

Finally came the award of certificates

as decided by the votes of the people there.

And so the end of a very successful day. Dismantle the marquees, take down the stalls,

and get everything cleared away and the field back to normal....

....until next year!
