Regalia, Essex news and group Calendar
I’m pleased to say that it looks very hopeful that the first batch of Radiator and Lapel Badges will be available at the Christmas Dinner Dance this coming Saturday – so make sure you have some spare cash with you! They will cost £10 and £3 respectively.
Christmas curry - the answer to turkey overload!
Just a reminder that we have cancelled the regular S&D meeting in December. This has been “replaced” by Christmas Curry buffet lunch planned for Thursday 29th December at the Royal Tiger in Rettendon. Mary and I visited the Tiger on Tuesday for lunch and I am pleased to report that it was well up to standard. It was confirmed that lunches will be served throughout the Christmas holiday period so we have the “green light” for a nosh on Thursday the 29th. The cost of the four course luncheon is £14.25 including the service charge of 10%. Please make sure you pay for your drinks separately and remember that you save 10% by buying at the bar rather than ordering at the table! We will be congregating in the car park at 12.30 and should sit down at around one o’clock. I do need to have an idea of the number of covers needed so, if you fancy a change of diet to Thai/Indian cuisine, please e-mail or phone me so I may add your name to the list.
Ernie's springclean
Ernie Turner has had an early “spring clean” of his stocks of TR5/6 parts and has asked me to advertise the following Christmas Specials!
- MX5 seats in vgc c/w modifying brackets to fit TRs - £180
- Brand new TR6 grille with centre trim - £130
- Front and rear TR6 bumpers that need re-chroming - £150
- S/steel sports exhaust (twin pipe) - £80
- Set of five 6x15 Minator Minilite alloy wheels complete with virtually new 195x65x15 Prestivo tyres – the spare has never been used - £350.
Ernie may be contacted on 07711 853557 or ernieturner1952@yahoo.co.uk
...and finally
And finally, Christmas is traditionally a time of good cheer but, if someone should upset you, don’t respond intemperately. Poetry usually soothes a tense situation so, instead of a stream of invectives, just quietly recite:
The moon may kiss the stars so high
The sun may kiss the bright blue sky
The dew may kiss the morning grass
And you, my friend, may kiss my forehead!
Have a super Christmas
